ISO / IEC management­ system

Swisscom Switzerland’s ISO 9001-certified management system ensures consistent improvements in quality and cost efficiency across the board and is an internationally recognised proof of quality. To demonstrate the efficacy of its management system and uphold its ISO 9001 certificate, the system is subject to a certification cycle involving annual audits by external, accredited auditors.

The ISO 14001-certified environmental management system (EMS) is used to systematically manage the company's environmental approach. This process-based environmental management system ensures that Swisscom operates in an environmentally friendly, resource-conserving and sustainable manner. The EMS is based on the ISO 9001 quality management system and is subject to the certification cycle.

For Swisscom, it is extremely important to have a sustainable service management system that focuses on the needs of our customers and is structured according to ITIL. Swisscom demonstrates this through the ISO 20000 certification of its IT service management system, which is fully integrated in the ISO 9001-compatible management system. In the interests of demonstrating its efficacy and upholding the certificate to ISO 20000, this part of our integrated management system also takes part in the general certification cycle.

For our customers and for Swisscom, the security of information and data is of the utmost importance. To this end, we operate an Information Security Management System (ISMS) for the entire Swisscom (Switzerland) Ltd. What this means, amongst other things, is that Swisscom handles customer and employee data confidentially and in compliance with the law. Our ISMS is audited by an independent certification body on an annual basis, as evidenced by the ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

Achievement of level 3 in the process assessment to ISO 33002 demonstrates that Swisscom's processes for compliance with the Ordinance on Protection from Non-Ionising Radiation (ONIR) are established and managed in accordance with quality assurance requirements. The quality assurance requirements are agreed between and accepted by all providers involved, guaranteeing an excellent ONIR process maturity level.

Swisscom measures and determines the greenhouse gas balance of its activities according to ISO standard 14064 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). These standards provide the basis for the company’s annual climate report. SGS conducts an audit to verify these emissions.

ISO 22301 is an internationally recognised standard for Business Continuity Management Systems. Swisscom is certified to this standard and uses it to systematically prepare for potential business disruptions in order to respond quickly and in a structured manner in crisis situations. The standard covers all aspects of the BCMS, including the development of strategies, plans and procedures to minimise business disruptions. By implementing ISO 22301, Swisscom is strengthening its resilience, ensuring the continuity of critical business processes/products/services and thereby maintaining the trust of our customers, partners and stakeholders.
