Swisscom mobile network among the top 3 in Europe

Swisscom has been ranked in third place behind Telia in Sweden and Vodafone in the Netherlands in a Europe-wide mobile network comparison test conducted by the industry magazine connect. This test also shows Swisscom to be ahead of its Swiss competitors. connect conducted a comparison of the quality and service offered by European mobile network providers, evaluating data from 94 suppliers from 28 countries. Swisscom is continuously extending its mobile network for its 6.3 million customers, investing in technical innovations and pushing ahead with the expansion of 5G alongside partner Ericsson.

In its huge comparison test, the industry magazine connect assessed the quality of broadband provision, data rates, and delays. These three categories form the basis for the comparison and ranking of 94 mobile network providers from 28 countries across Europe. Crowdsourcing data captured between 14 October 2019 and 29 March 2020 served as the foundation for this evaluation.

In the Europe-wide country assessment, in which all providers in Switzerland are evaluated as a group, Switzerland occupies fourth place – despite much stricter limits on exposure to radiofrequency radiation. Overall, the Swiss networks perform very well. However, it will be difficult to maintain such a high level in future due to increasingly difficult conditions for expansion of the network and a lack of implementing provisions for adaptive 5G antennas.
