As a leading ICT company in Switzerland and Italy, Swisscom aims to exploit the opportunities of the digital transformation for the prosperity of the countries. We are committed to minimising potential risks and thus helping to shape the future. We develop the digital skills of people, protect the climate, advocate for fair and environmentally friendly supply chains and maintain a reliable, high-performance ICT infrastructure. Our group sustainability strategy is based on the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals. We have set ourselves the following targets for 2030 as a group and in Switzerland. Specific targets for Italy can be found on the Fastweb+Vodafone websites. The results of the previous Sustainability Strategy 2025 can be found in the Sustainability Report 2024. Further key figures can be found in the Sustainability Statements 2025.

CEO Swisscom
We take responsibility for digital society by empowering everyone in the digital world and being an employer of choice where talent thrives.
Our goal is for everyone to be able at all times to communicate in both the public and private spheres and to exploit the opportunities provided by digitisation. We see it as our duty to train users in the competent and safe use of digital media. We want to promote digitisation and thus enable the digital penetration of everyday life. In particular, we support children and young people in dealing competently with new opportunities. But we are also keen for the working population and senior citizens to recognise the opportunities that the information society holds for them.

We benefit from a diverse workforce, which creates an enormous competitive advantage for us: with their different views and approaches, experiences, ideas and skills, employees inspire and learn from each other. As a result, Swisscom gains greater creativity, innovation and success. We pay attention to the fair treatment of employees regardless of their gender, age, background, language or sexual orientation. We also ensure the inclusion of employees with physical and psychological impairments. In doing so, we design relevant processes in recruitment, appointment, development, talent management and leadership culture in such a way that they counteract even unconscious stereotyping and enable true equal opportunities.

Employer attractiveness is a major priority for us in view of the increasing shortage of skilled workers. This is especially true for IT profiles. Under the motto ‘What you make of it is what makes us’, we pursue a strategy of attracting and retaining the best employees for Swisscom. Swisscom Switzerland has set itself the goal of being one of the top three employers in the Swiss ICT industry by 2030.

Volunteering is an important part of the culture in Switzerland and Italy. With our Give2Grow programme, for instance, all employees are offered the opportunity to dedicate one day a year to a charitable or ecological project. Every year, over 2,500 volunteer days are to be completed by our employees.

We achieve Net-Zero by 2035 and further support customers' climate ambitions while contributing to nature.
As a Group, we have committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain in accordance with SBTi by 2035, thereby making a significant contribution to a climate-friendly Switzerland. We are therefore committed to reducing our absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2035, starting from the base year of 2018.*

Swisscom originally set itself the target of increasing energy efficiency by 35% between 1.1.2016 and the end of 2020. This target has been achieved. Swisscom Switzerland has set itself a new target of increasing energy efficiency by a further 30% by the end of 2034 (3% on average per year). As a group, we still want to use 100% renewable electricity and produce our own energy using PV systems.

We will enable a positive CO2 contribution of 4 million tonnes per year by 2030 in Switzerland and Italy. This corresponds to almost ten percent of all greenhouse gas emissions in Switzerland. We will achieve this by empowering our customers to reduce their own carbon footprint through our products and services and by investing in climate-friendly start-ups. These include, for example, digital solutions for location-independent working and IoT (Internet of Things)-supported services for the optimization and remote monitoring of traffic, building technology and devices.

In the past, we have made a "tonne-for-tonne" climate contribution for all the CO2 emissions we have emitted (for every emitted tonne of CO2, we reduced one tonne of CO2 through verified carbon avoidance and mitigation projects). In the future, for every tonne of CO2 emitted, we are going to invest CHF 120 in negative emission technologies and companies beyond our own value chain in a "money-for-ton" approach. In this way, we continue to take responsibility for our direct, currently unavoidable residual emissions. This new BVCM in approach in Switzerland allows us to prioritize long-term impact over pure quantitative reduction and to promote technologies that will enable all companies achieve their Net-zero targets in the long term. These investments are to be understood complementary to our direct CO2 reduction measures.
Based on the commitments of our sustainability and supply chain strategy, we have further developed our circular economy activities. In this respect we are very well positioned with the take-back and second-life programmes (e.g. Swisscom Mobile Aid). There is potential for improvement with the circular economy compatibility of our own products and through greater transparency in network dismantling.
