Store TV recordings for longer

It is easy to record films and series on blue TV. Find out how to store recordings for longer or recover them following deletion.

It is quick and easy to store your films and series with blue TV. When storing recordings, please note the following:

  • From 25 May, 2021, TV recordings will be stored for 2 years.
  • If you wish to keep hold of programmes for longer than 2 years, you can use the time-unlimited archive function.
  • Your recording storage capacity depends on your blue TV subscription. If you need more storage space, you can add 500 extra hours recording space for 5.– /mth. The option can be subscribed directly on the TV box under "Home> Settings> Account> Channels & subscriptions" or in My Swisscom.





Recover recordings

After 2 years, saved recordings that have not been archived (padlock symbol) will be automatically moved to the recycle bin. You have 30 days in which to recover them. Recovered recordings are automatically archived to ensure that they are stored for an unlimited period. If your archive storage is already full, you will not lose any recordings. However, you will need to delete previously archived recordings before you can recover and archive the deleted recordings.

How to recover your recordings:

  • Step 1 Restore recording blue TV Box UHD and Swisscom Box

    Go to your recordings. Select ‘Manage recordings’.

    Step 2 Restore recording blue TV Box UHD and Swisscom Box

    Go to the ‘Recycle bin’ on the right.

  • Step 3 Restore recording blue TV Box UHD and Swisscom Box

    Select the recordings that you wish to keep. Select ‘Recover’.

    Step 4 Restore recording blue TV Box UHD and Swisscom Box

    The programme will now be in your ‘Recordings’. Archived recordings are identified by a padlock symbol.

    Go to https://tv.blue.ch. Click ‘Login’ and log in using your Swisscom Login.

    Step 2 Restore recording blue TV Box HD

    Go to ‘Recordings’ > ‘Recycle bin’.

  • Step 3 Restore recording blue TV Box HD

    Right-click on the pen and select the recordings that you wish to keep.

    Step 4 Restore recording blue TV Box HD

    Click ‘Restore’.

  • Step 5 Restore recording blue TV Box HD

    The programme will now be in your ‘Recordings’. Archived recordings are identified by a padlock symbol.






Store recordings permanently

We recommend that you permanently archive recordings that are important to you. Here’s how:

 

  1. Go to your recordings.
  2. Go to the recording in question and press ‘OK’.
  3. Select ‘Archive’ below.
  4. The recording now has a padlock symbol, which tells you that the programme has been archived and will be permanently stored.
