In order to improve protection against fraudulent activity, Swisscom only permits now encrypted e-mail access. To continue using your Bluewin e-mail securely on all your devices, please check your e-mail settings.
If you don’t adjust your settings, you will no longer be able to send and receive e-mails through your e-mail programme (e.g. Outlook, Apple-Mail).
Please check your e-mail settings on all devices where you have included your Bluewin address.

Swisscom has no access to the settings of other manufacturers’ e-mail programs as the e-mail programs are stored locally on your device. Swisscom is therefore unable to adjust your settings for you. You should, however, find all the information you need for the update in the following Help.
If the settings in your e-mail programs (Outlook, Apple Mail or Android Mail) do not yet comply with the new security standards, you will receive an e-mail from email@example.com.
When using Webmail and the Bluewin app, communication between your device and the Bluewin e-mail servers is always encrypted automatically. Therefore, if you only use Webmail or the Bluewin app, no further action is required.
IMAP and POP3 are protocols used to transmit e-mails between mail servers and e-mail programs.
IMAP special features (recommended):
E-mails are saved on the mail server and regularly synchronised and downloaded by the e-mail program. This means that if you lose your device (e.g. your computer or mobile phone), you won’t lose your e-mails.
POP3 special features:
Once the connection is made between the e-mail program and mail server, e-mails are downloaded directly to the device and then deleted from the mail server.
