A cutting-edge development with regard to ecology, ergonomics and work technology, the new Business Park fully meets Swisscom’s need for modern workstations. In total, the Business Park consists of five floors and two basement levels, one of which has some 90 parking spaces. The ground floor features a canteen and conference area. On the upper floors, around 440 workstations have been set up to accommodate more than 500 employees.
The new Business Park meets very stringent requirements with regard to sustainable development. The building’s ambient temperature can be controlled via a groundwater-fed heat pump, and a photovoltaic system is incorporated into the roof. The building is entirely in line with Swiss standard Minergie-P-Eco.
The concept of architectural firm Suter & Sauthier in Sion was developed into a design by general planner Emch + Berger in Lausanne and carried out by Implenia, the general contractor on this project. The investor, CSA Real Estate Switzerland Commercial, is an investment group in the Credit Suisse Investment Foundation.
Swisscom has been investing in Valais for years and has built up a strong foothold there. Thanks to its strong investment with regard to communications infrastructures, Swisscom covers all of the canton’s main towns, as well as many mountain resorts. Following on from Crans-Montana, one of the first resorts to have LTE (4G) technology, there are now 195 resorts with 4G network coverage. Swisscom is also a leading employer and partner for the canton. With its 570 employees in the region, Swisscom is a major player in the economy of Valais. By supporting various events such as the Patrouille des Glaciers ski mountain race or the Foire du Valais trade fair, for which it is the main sponsor, Swisscom is also a partner of choice in the region.
