New myCloud subscriptions: FAQs

On this page:
Find out what changes with the new myCloud subscriptions, when they come into effect and how you can change or cancel your existing subscription.

The old subscriptions (myCloud Light, myCloud Standard, myCloud Pro) differed in the storage capacity and functions available.

The new subscriptions differ in the storage capacity and contain:

  • The subscriptions incur costs for all customers who use more than 10 GB of storage.
  • Non-customers and existing customers benefit from the same conditions.
  • The subscriptions only differ in terms of storage capacity.
  • The storage available covers all photos, videos and files.
  • All subscriptions come with the same features:

- Computer Backup
- Overview according to photograph location
- Sharing with password protection and individual expiry date
- Media uploader
- Maximum file size of 20 GB
- WebDav

The new subscriptions come into effect for new customers from 5th October 2021; existing myCloud customers will move to the new subscriptions from the first week in February 2022. During this week your myCloud account will be migrated to one of the new subscription models, depending on your storage volume.

If you don't want to be migrated to a subscription that incurs charges at the start of February 2022 and have more than 10 GB of storage, proceed as follows:

  • Download photos and files from your myCloud account until you are under the limit of 10 GB (free subscription).
  • After you have successfully downloaded the files, delete the data from your myCloud account.
  • This automatically switches you to the free myCloud subscription (10 GB storage).

Alternatively you can also cancel(opens in new tab) or delete your account. Details on how to proceed are given below.

The myCloud subscriptions have been adjusted in line with changing market requirements. Customers are increasingly storing more and larger amounts of data on cloud services. The myCloud offering has been simplified to enable us to continue to provide our customers with a modern, online storage solution: the myCloud subscriptions now only differ in terms of storage instead of the functions available.

Three examples of how the switch will work if you have saved a payment method in your myCloud account:

Example 1:Your myCloud account contains 55 GB of storage from the start of February 2022. Swisscom invoice is your chosen payment method. In the first week of February you are therefore automatically migrated to the subscription with 100 GB for CHF 1.90/mth.

Example 2: Your myCloud account contains 8 GB of storage from the start of February 2022. In the first week of February you are automatically migrated to the free subscription with 10 GB included.

Example 3:
Your myCloud account contains 190 GB of storage from the start of February 2022. In the first week of February you are automatically migrated to myCloud 250 GB for CHF 3.90/mth.

If you exceed the free limit of 10 GB and have not saved payment details (credit card or Swisscom invoice), you have the following options:

  • Save payment details: (> Settings > "Change subscription")
  • Reduce your storage to less than 10 GB
  • Cancel or delete your myCloud subscription or account. Details on how to proceed are given below.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Go to www.mycloud.ch(opens in new tab) and log in.
  2. Open settings.
  3. Click on "Delete my myCloud account" in "Leave myCloud".
  4. Enter your name to confirm.

Please note that:

  • Access to your data will be deactivated immediately.
  • The deletion cannot be reversed.
  • This only deletes your myCloud account, not your Swisscom login.
  • It can take up to seven days to permanently delete your data.

Yes, you can switch to one of the new subscriptions before the automatic migration at the start of February 2022. Go to the settings and select "Change subscription". Please note that if you switch immediately, the promotion described in the info mail no longer applies.
