Now powered by Android TV™

The new TV-Box is powered by Android TV. The TV experience remains the same, but you can now also enjoy features such as, Google Assistant, Google Play and Chromecast built-in™.

A Google Account is not required to access certain features. You can still watch TV programmes and videos and use all blue TV features. A Google Account is needed to customize your experience such as access Google Play to download apps and for certain features in regards to Google Assistant.

Create Google Account

On the TV, go to the menu and select ‘Apps’. You can install all other apps on Google Play. To do so, click the Google Play app.

Go from your phone, tablet, or laptop to your TV in an instant. With Chromecast built-in™, you can cast all your favorite movies, shows, apps, games, and more directly to your TV.

You can also use Chromecast built-in to stream content from the most common streaming apps to the TV with an Apple device. Go to Google instructions(opens in new tab)

You can also stream your mobile photos to the TV through the myCloud app. Here’s how

You launch Swisscom’s voice control using the microphone button on the blue TV remote control. You can use it to search for content or control the TV-Box (e.g. changing channels, volume control, recording programmes, opening the TV Guide).

To talk to Google Assistant, click the coloured Google Assistant button on the top-left of the remote control to get started. You can search for movies and shows across live TV, on-demand, and streaming apps as well as get recommendations to match your mood, ask questions, control smart home devices, and more.

Yes. The new TV-Box 5 is powered by Android TV, for which Google’s terms and conditions of use must be accepted. This is in line with current practice when setting-up Android-based smartphones, during which users are required to accept the service provider’s terms and conditions of use in order to use the smartphone. By using this platform, we can continue to provide you with the blue TV experience you’ve come to expect while also giving you access to features such as Google Assistant and Google Play.

We do not send any data to Google. This applies in particular to blue TV usage. If you use features such as Google Assistant or Google Play, these are subject to the same regulations as the use of other Google features, which have to be accepted in advance.
